Which mobility grade corresponds to normal mobility?

N

In evaluating tooth mobility, you first decide if the mobility is within normal physiologic limits or increased due to periodontal support loss. Normal mobility is recorded as N, meaning there is no abnormal movement beyond what’s normally expected for a tooth. A healthy tooth shouldn’t show pathologic looseness, even though there may be a tiny physiologic movement that all teeth have. The other grades indicate increasing looseness (slight, moderate, and severe) due to attachment loss, so they are not considered normal. That’s why the best answer is the letter representing normal mobility.
